Oftentimes there is a great debate about when is it the best time of the year to start a home based business. For some people that are just looking at getting started with a home business the “when should I start?” question is possibly a concern. Some “experts” say to start in the springtime while others say in the fall… my recommendation is simply this:

“Why Wait? Do it now!”

Success in business is all about taking action and making decisions. Here are the top 5 reasons why to start your home business immediately…

1) Tax advantages. The U.S. tax code is written to give large incentives to those who are willing to start and run a business. This includes home businesses. You can potentially save thousands of dollars yearly in your taxes by being able to write off certain things as a legitimate business expenses. Oftentimes, you can write off the entire cost of joining your business opportunity as well (see your tax advisor)

2) Excitement and Momentum. If you are motivated right now to start an additional income stream for yourself why wait? Simply find a program or business that matches up with your budget, interests, and income goals and get started.

3) Portability. Most home businesses only require an internet connection and a telephone. This means that you can operate your business from almost anywhere in the world allowing you the freedom to make money wherever you are.

4) Security. Let’s face it, in today’s economic climate people are often just a few paychecks away from financial disaster and are not guaranteed their job by any means with their current employer. With a home based business, you are in control of your income and the only person that can fire you is you!

5) Lifestyle Income. In a job you exchange time for dollars. With a home business you are working in the world of unlimited income potential. With a home business no one tells you what you are worth and how much you can earn but you. You’re in control and you can truly earn the income required to enjoy the lifestyle of your dreams that you deserve.

Keep this in mind in your search for a business…

Successful home business professionals work their businesses full time while most “hobbyists” work it part time. That means that the summertime months are some of the best times to get one-on-one training from the successful leaders while the amateurs take their time off!

So if you are looking to start a home business, don't hesitate, there is simply no better time like the present to take action and start to create the lifestyle of your dreams today.

Just finished check my email. Nothing new, three payment notification emails from PayPal, two new ClickBank sales, one new prospect in membership site I’m promoting and one mail from a frustrated marketer “I’ve been doing Internet marketing for last 3 years, I’ve joined so many programs. I
max out my credit card but haven’t made a dime yet.”
I receive this type of mails daily and always wonder why people don’t earn money through Internet. In fact it’s the easiest way to make money. I think there may be two reasons behind it.

1. People are not willing to learn.
People don’t want to learn. A research shows that 97% people think that they are smarter than others and they need not to learn new things. I’m not saying that they are wrong. Off course they are expert in their field but when it comes to other field or say Internet marketing they are zero. They don’t know anything about it so they should learn first.
You may ask what about the rest 3%. Well these 3% people don’t think they are smarter (they are actually smartest) and they try to learn from everyone. That’s why these 3% people are having 97% wealth of the world.

2. Internet is filled with hypes.
The second reason is that internet is filled with hypes. There are thousands of companies and marketers, who want only your money. They don’t care about you and usually don’t deliver what they promised. When somebody tries to
learn from them, he ends up with an exhausted credit card and a belief that “There is no money in Internet Marketing”
So the real question is what you should do to get succeed. In one line “Learn everything from a reliable source and implement that strategies in your business.
There is a shocking fact “successful internet marketers don’t try to sale anything to anybody”.
“What, how will they earn money if they don’t sale” you may ask. Well first they gain trust of people and than simply recommend some product. The best way to gain trust is give them some valuable gift. It may be a mini-course, a short report or some kind of software. You too can do it.
- I don’t have enough knowledge to create a mini-course or report.
- I don’t have any software to giveaway.
- I am not so famous why people will trust me.
- I can’t do it because I am too young or too old.
- I missed the right time to enter in Internet marketing.
You may sound like this but there is always a way around what-ever the excuse is. When these famous marketers started, nobody knows them. Today we have a marketer who earned millions in just 19 years of age. So don’t forget “There is always a way.”
So here is a short and simple way to get success:

1. Join list of 5-6 well-known marketers.
The first step is very important. Join mailing list of 5-6 famous marketers and learn what they teach you. If you learn carefully, you’ll come to know that things are always same, the only difference is way of presentation. When you
join some e-courses from famous marketers, you’ll have enough data to compile your own course. I’m not saying that you just copy their course. Grab an Idea from their course and make yours.

2. Search for free software you can giveaway.
You can find thousands of software, ebooks for free online. Just get a few good software or ebooks to offer as incentives to people.
I’ve just discovered breakthrough money-making software. This software generate sale and automatically deliver products just by giving away for free.
Now offer your mini e-course, report or software to people nd gain their trust. Once you have their trust, you can recommend them new products and earn over and over again. Again don’t try to sell anything to anybody, just give them your recommendation.

Many clients come to me with problems…

The most common problem I hear from people is they arent making the kind of money they want to make with their Internet business. They dont know what the problem is and they want me to help.

Ill tell you what the problem is. Most of these people are what I like to call “opportunity seekers.” These are people that have too many sites and dont spend any time focusing on ONE business. They may have 20 or 30 websites, with each site only breaking even or making a few hundred dollars every month.

Most opportunity seekers are not making the money they want or achieving their financial goals. Why?

They are making a common mistake. They have too many sites, too many interests. This prevents them from focusing their efforts and creating the six figure income they dream of.

Focus Is The Key To Long-Term Success

If you want to succeed on the Internet, you are much better-off staying focused. That means starting off with one site or idea and perfecting it before moving on to the next Internet adventure. Far too many people have a “get rich quick” mind-set. In fact, Id say almost all opportunity seekers have this mind-set. They jump from one program to another hoping one of them will lead to success.

Opportunity seekers are always the first to jump on the next “big” moneymaking bandwagon. It may be one thing one month, another the next month. They may try to concentrate on affiliate marketing then switch dramatically to e-book marketing the next. Whatever seems to be working for others they jump into with wild abandon, without considering their true talents, abilities and interests.

These people are looking for some easy way to make money. They think they can make money with Google AdSense or just a web page, or even with a multilevel marketing program. This is NOT how an entrepreneur thinks! However, this is exactly how an opportunist thinks. They always are looking for shortcuts, and then wonder why it isnt working.

It isnt working because you have no focus. You must have focus. You must think like an entrepreneur. Focus is one of the most vital aspects of your success. My advice to these newbies is shut down 29 of your sites and focus on one site, the one that best represents your interests.

Optimize it. Work on refining it. Refine your sales process and your back end on this single site and make it successful BEFORE you move on to the next site.

Yes, I have many sites. But I am Dan Lok. Youre not there yet. Perfect your one site. THEN you can think about moving on to other moneymaking ventures.

Horizontal Vs. Vertical Business

Many people have what I call a horizontal business. A horizontal business has many sites in many different niches, like hobby niches. People who own horizontal businesses have 20 or more separate business ventures. I recommend having a vertical business instead. A vertical business is a business that has depth and focus.

Having a vertical business means if you have a product in a particular niche, like stock trading, focus on selling products related to that and that only. Put all your eggs in one basket and create a funnel effect. This way youll have one group of customers and you can become a big fish in a small pond. Youll have all your eggs in one place yes… but youll become an expert egg layer and watch all your eggs hatch with great success. Make sense?

What is the problem with a horizontal business? You arent specialized. Its almost impossible to make a six-figure income with this kind of business because you dont spend enough time on any ONE business.

When you have a vertical business, you have fine-tuned your business so well competitors have a hard time keeping up with you. People cant compete. You also build a strong client base with satisfied customers.

Think Like An Entrepreneur

So, the biggest problem people have is they are opportunity seekers. The key is thinking like a true Internet entrepreneur. Dont jump on the trend bandwagon. Dont ask what the shortcuts are. An entrepreneur has a long-term vision. You have to have a one-year, five year and ten year vision. Find out what you want your business to look like in the long-term.

Ask yourself, “What do I want to accomplish ultimately?” Then decide whether your activities fit with your goals. Stop jumping from one program to another. Focus on one program, one site, and one great idea. This is what you have to do if you want to make six figures. It has nothing to do with your knowledge, skill set experience etc. It has to do more with your focus.

Sit down. Think about it. Stop jumping from one program to another and stop getting sucked into false moneymaking schemes. Find out what your goals are, what you want to accomplish. This is a far superior approach. Yes, it takes a lot of energy. But its worth it. In the long-term its much less tiring than diversifying your business.

Once you are an expert in your industry or niche, THEN you can think about diversifying your business.
