1. Singular and plural types are lumped together. I one time optimized a site for "mountain hiking" founded on the search traffic demonstrated by Overture. I subsequent found out that over half of that traffic was really for "mountains hiking." Unfortunately, the search motors don't chunk singulars and plurals, so those searchers didn't find their way to my location.
2. Alphabetizing. I hesitate to mention this, because it only seems to happen occasionally, but that makes it poorer. occasionally Overture alphabetizes seek phrases. If you see "bag lightweight sleeping," you might estimate that the explorations are really for "lightweight sleeping bag," but what about "hiking mountains?" That could sensibly be searched for both ways. gaze down the register to see if other phrases are conspicuously alphabetized.
3. Misspellings are not habitually seperated. I searched "perseverence," on Overture's study device, an honest spelling mistake on my part, and glimpsed good demand. I nearly optimized a page for it before taking a second gaze and glimpsing that the results shown were for "perseverance." You can be certain that searches are being finished both ways, but how numerous each way?
4. Inflated figures. Overture often displays more monthly explorations for a keyword than other reseek devices display for ALL seek engines. Who is in mistake? Hard to state for certain, but given Overtures other imperfections...
Overture's Keyword proposal Tool is a fast way to discover if there is some demand for a keyword, and it's still free. For grave keyword study, though, it's best to look to other tools.
